Decay treatment to house in HammersmithThis 1900’s property in Hammersmith, West London has now been restored following an outbreak of Wet rot resulting from a plumbing leak. Kenwood were called in following concerns regarding decay to flooring within the property. Our Surveyor inspected the property and identified the presence of a plumbing leak which had allowed decay to occur to the floors and joinery. This particular project required the removal of the affected skirting boards and joinery, the joists and flooring timbers, drying out of the oversite and replacement of the flooring and joinery

New pre-treated sub floor timbers were installed which we have isolated from the masonry to prevent future decay. The sub floor ventilation is also a contributing factor in many decay outbreaks. The provision of good sub floor ventilation assists in maintaining dry conditions below floors and preventing rot from occurring.
