Recent changes to BS8102 have promoted the need for a waterproofing expert to be part of the design team for the construction of basements. Traditionally, the architect has taken on this role, however this new guidance produced by the British Standards Institute seeks to improve the quality and reliability of basement waterproofing by engaging with specialist waterproofing designers at the earliest possible stage.
