Condensation solution in Barking
Condensation Control / Barking / Completed: 22 Mar 2018
Following a tenant’s complaint of black mould affecting the bedrooms of a property in Barking, Kenwood were called to assess the situation. During the colder months condensation can become a problem in poorly ventilated properties. With many litres of moisture being produced by families everyday through cooking, cleaning and breathing, insufficient ventilation allows this moisture to condense on colder external walls. Over time this build-up of condensation can cause unsightly black mould to appear, usually around windows, external walls and behind furniture.
Kenwood’s solution for this home involved the installation of a main control unit and passive ventilators. The main control unit is installed within the loft space offering a discreet solution and, as it is placed in the landing area, optimum distribution of fresh air. The passive ventilators allow moisture laden air to exit the property providing improved air quality and better ventilation. By reducing the relative humidity in this way, condensation and mould growth will not form.
